Focus on What's Good
Are you usually thinking about what is good or going well in your life, or on your problems and what’s going wrong?
In simple terms, think of a donut. Rather than focusing on the hole and what is not going well or what’s missing, we have the choice to think about the donut - or what we already have in our lives to appreciate.
When you Focus on What’s Good, you will be amazed at the impact it has on so many areas of your life.
You might be thinking, how can I Focus on What’s Good more often when I am faced with daily challenges?
A study compared a group of people who were asked to write what they were grateful for each day with another group who listed their hassles or problems.
The results were impressive. Over two months, the group who wrote what they were grateful for:

Exercised 33% more

Experienced fewer physical symptoms

Felt better about their lives

Felt more optimistic about the upcoming week

Were more likely to have made progress towards goals
These are certainly impressive results for something that takes just a minute to do!
Start focusing more on what’s good in your life
Include big things and specific things that you are grateful to have in your life. And, because many of us tend to focus on our faults, this is also a great reminder to list positive things about yourself and your strengths as well.

Focus On What's Good Example
Things I am grateful for and/or are going well. Consider and include small specific things as well as strengths used.
I slept well and feel rested today
I was disciplined in my eating today
I got together with a friend
The sun is shining & I was able to walk outside
I had a nice conversation with my son
I listened to my favorite music
